Our engagement with clients involves 3 things –

  1. Training
  2. Coaching
  3. Consulting

Training forms the spine of the engagement and consists of 3 Modules comprised of 15 online sessions. These are delivered every 2 weeks for 30 weeks, and are for the whole team. The aim of the training is to impart knowledge.

Coaching is where we coach the team leader as we take the team through the training. These consist of 1-hour online sessions. The purpose of the coaching is like an apprenticeship where we impart skills to the team leader.

Consulting is where we use our expertise to solve challenges for the client.

Training 

is online training or teaching to groups or individuals, focused on imparting knowledge or understanding. The training is at the core of what we do. All the other elements fit around this.

Performance Coaching 

is one-on-one, and it focuses on taking the knowledge learned in the training and making it practical. This is not life coaching. It is specifically focused on improving performance. All coaching in online. We take the team through the training modules while we coach the leader.

Consulting 

is when we use our expertise to addresses and solve specific topics or challenges. Some of the topics or challenges we address for the client are:

  • Recruiting the right person
  • Promoting the right person
  • Improving Communication in a team
  • Resolving conflict
  • Building a healthy team

PRODUCTS

are tools that we have developed that we use to add value to our clients.

  • Agile Flex
    Agile Flex is a communications assessment for a scrum master that helps them
    drastically improve communication for a sprint.

Module 1 – LEMON Leadership

LEMON Leadership is not a “How to” of leadership, but “Who are you?” It looks at leadership in a fresh way. Our belief is that it is more important in the long run to know who you are than what to do. A good leader understands and leads out of your identity. It doesn’t matter what your style, academic background or ethnicity may be, the key is to know what type of leader you are.

This module is based on Brett Johnson’s book, LEMON Leadership, where he writes about five types of leaders:

      Luminaries     Entrepreneurs   Managers   Organisers     Networkers

LEMON Leadership is introduced over a month and consists of the following –

  1. A 2-hour online “Introduction to LEMON” workshop for the group.
  2. An Assessment for each person.
  3. The book LEMON Leadership for each person.
  4. A 30-minute one-on-one feedback session with each person.
  5. 7 online tests or Refreshers designed to test each person’s knowledge and help retain what they have learned.
  6. 4 x 1-hour online workshops for the group that look at LEMON Communication.

Module 2 – Healthy Roots

At the Hosi Learning Academy, we use the analogy of a tree for leadership.

The part of the tree that is visible is above ground. The part of a leader that is visible is what we call their leadership style. Leadership Style is the strategic choice a leader makes about how to behave in the situation they find themselves in.

If you want to be a healthy tree, you need to have healthy roots. Healthy roots include:

  1. Understanding how you are wired.
  2. Knowing the key drivers of your behaviour.
  3. Your emotional quotient or EQ.
  4. Knowing if you are an introvert or extrovert, and what that means.
  5. Your learned behaviour.

All this impacts your fruit, which is your management style. What makes us unique is our understanding of how this all fits together.

The Module consists of –

  1. 6 hours of Online interactive workshops
  2. Tests
  3. One-on-one online coaching
  4. Exercises

    Module 3 – Communication and Conflict

    This module consists of 6 x 1-hour online workshops where we take an in-depth look at relationships, communication, and conflict. The focus is on getting the team to work together while we coach the leader. All Lessons are online and are 1 hour, and look at …

    Lesson 1 – Relationship types

    The different types of relationships we are involved in and the expectations that come with them, as well as how to manage them.

    Lesson 2 – Conflict 1 – Understanding

    The complexity of conflict and the key things we need to be aware of and manage in the process.

    Lesson 3 – Conflict 2 – Managing

    Elements of conflict that need to be managed. The impact that values have on conflict, and how to manage them.

    Lesson 4 – Conflict 3 – Tendencies

    Because of how we are wired we tend to react to and approach conflict differently.

    Lesson 5 – Conflict 4 – Underlying causes

    The underlying causes of conflict in relationships. It gets to the roots, which sorts out the fruits.

    Lesson 6 – Conflict 5 – Letting go

    How conflict is a trigger for change, and how to approach and manage the change.
